These Terms of Use and End-User License Agreement (the "Agreement") are a legal agreement between you and Coursion Studio ("Coursion", "we", "us") for the Forge macOS application and related updates and documentation (the "Software"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on Mac computers you own or control, for your personal or internal business use, in accordance with this Agreement.
You may not: (a) redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise make the Software available to third parties; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this limitation; (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices; or (d) use the Software to violate any applicable law or the terms of any third-party service you connect to it.
Forge is a local tool that runs shells, agents, and AI requests on your behalf using credentials you supply (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, or other providers). You are solely responsible for: your API keys and any charges they incur; the commands, files, and repositories the Software and its agents read or modify on your machine; and complying with the terms and usage policies of every third-party service you connect. AI output can be inaccurate — review it before relying on it. Keep backups of important work.
The Software integrates with third-party providers and open-source components, each governed by its own terms and licenses. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their pricing, or how they handle your data. Your use of those services is between you and the provider.
The Software may check for and install updates (via Sparkle) to improve or secure it. Updates are covered by this Agreement unless they ship with their own terms.
The Software is licensed, not sold. Coursion retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, excluding content you create and third-party components under their own licenses.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT IT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COURSION WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE — INCLUDING ACTIONS TAKEN BY AGENTS OR AI PROVIDERS YOU CONFIGURE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $0 IF THE SOFTWARE WAS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it; you may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the Software. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Coursion Studio operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and excluding any body of law that would apply the laws of another jurisdiction.
We may update this Agreement as the Software evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Agreement. The current version is always posted here.
